Services
Probate Administration
We will help you navigate the complicated process of Probate administration. Probate, also called estate administration, is the judicial process by which a decedent’s assets (his or her estate) are distributed to his or her heirs or other devisees. If a decedent had a will, he or she is deemed to have died “testate,” and the will governs the distribution of his or her assets. If a decedent did not have a will, he or she died “intestate,” and the decedent’s state’s laws of intestacy will determine who will get his or her assets.
Trust Administration
Trust Administration consists of a wide variety of tasks that a Trustee must complete when managing the trust for the benefit of the beneficiaries. This includes very specific tasks as spelled out in the trust document as well as the tasks required by all trustees under state law. After a trustmaker dies, post-mortem administration is required to carry out the trustmaker’s wishes. Assets titled to the trust must be managed. Assets not in the trust, but in which the trust has an interest must be marshalled and transferred to the trust. Trust administration might require filing the pour-over will with a probate court, or filling out beneficiary claim paperwork, to begin the process of making assets payable to the trust. We can play a critical role in guiding the trustee through the often confusing maze of law and procedures related to trust administration; help the trustee analyze the trust documents, assets, liabilities, tax consequences, and beneficial interests; develop a strategy for administering the trust; and advise and guide the trustee through the steps and tasks of trust administration.

ABOUT US
Daniel F. Nelson
Hi, my name is Daniel Nelson and it is my pleasure to serve you as the Practice Manager and Paralegal of A2O LAW! My background covers various spheres of life including academics, business, ministry and law. I grew up in North Dakota and I remember working as the lot manager for our family Auto Business and the impact working with my dad had on me at a young age. Together we had the responsibility of cleaning off cars in subzero temperatures during the winter so that people could have the opportunity to view and possibly drive a clean vehicle. He instilled in me the value of treating others the way I want to be treated and to remember that at the end of the day we are working with people like us. People that mostly want to do the right thing and be treated fairly. I take this responsibility seriously but also enjoy what I do for our practice and you, the client! It is my goal to serve you well through the Estate Planning process as well as the Tax services provided. I most recently completed my Paralegal Certification through Liberty University and enjoy working with my wife, Jenica. Faith is a big part of our lives and in my free time I enjoy spending time with family, fitness, and traveling. It our goal to serve you well and help you leave a legacy!
